"I always work with emotions. I can't just do a routine." "I always work with emotions. I can't just do the exercise." Meital Maayan Sumkin talks about her performance at the World Cup in Baku

Israeli gymnast Meital Maayan Sumkin shared her impressions of her performance at the World Cup in Baku:

"I'm really happy. Of course, it could have been better, but with every competition I learn, get better, and move forward."

This tournament was special for the athlete, because she celebrated her birthday during the competition for the first time. The athlete admitted that she was very pleased to receive congratulations in such an atmosphere:

"It was the first time I've celebrated my birthday at a competition. It felt great. It's nice that they congratulated me here too."

Meital explained why the emotional component in each exercise is so important to her:

"I always work with emotions. I try to convey the music, to do everything with emotions. I can't just do a routine and just do it. I love passing it on. And that's how the emotions come out."

The gymnast placed seventh in the all-around at the World Cup in Baku and competed in the ball and ribbon finals.
