"I imagine that I am Alina Kabaeva!" Participants of the training camp talk about classes at the Academy
What elements did the gymnasts learn at the Academy with Evgenia Finkelstein, Alexander Buklov and Yulia Bravikova?
The participants of the training camp themselves talked about this after the lesson. Ksenia Dashkevich from Nakhodka noted that Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva is an example for her.
"I believe I am Alina Kabaeva, to be like her, to achieve success like that. We did jumps and leaps with Evgenia Finkelshtein, did acrobatics with Alexander Buklov, and did object training with the ribbon with Yulia Bravikova," Ksenia said.
Kira Pryn from Krasnodar talked about the training session dedicated to jumping.
"We were learning jumps during this workout. We started from the smallest ones and ended with splits, large jumps. I was praised for my jump," Kira said.
Anna Nikulshina from Lipetsk shared what was the most difficult part of the training for her.
"We have done very different jumps today, very difficult jumps. And I was not good with all of them. I managed to do the split en tournant with a step. There you have to calculate where to do the leg swings and when to turn," Anna said.
Polina Zueva, another gymnast from Nakhodka, added why you need to work on jumps.
"Our workout today was focused on the jumps, on the launch. We worked on making better pushes and so that it helped us in the exercise." she said.
The girls came to the Academy from different Russian cities for the training camps, which took place at the Academy June 20 through 30.
