"I took a step forward!" Karolina Tarasova talks about her performance at the international Ojaq Cup competition

Academy student Karolina Tarasova from Donetsk assessed her performance after the end of the Ojaq Cup competition.

"I rate my efforts and the result as nine out of ten, because I could have done the clubs better. But I really enjoyed performing here. Of course, there was strong competition.I have new programs, clubs and a ribbon. I like the program with the ribbon the most. Because it is so fiery," she said.

Karolina shared how the preparation for the tournament took place.

"They told me my mistakes, that I needed to correct them. And I became much better for myself and took one step forward, trained more than anyone else and sat with Evgenia Eliseeva until late, longer than anyone else," Karolina said.

The gymnast shared with us the instructions that Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva gave her.

"She gave me advice. It's an Italian fouette into a rear turn. You have to do the back turn, stretch up and spin well. I did it well, especially in the hoop," she said.

Karolina Tarasova from Donetsk won four gold medals at the Ojaq Cup tournament in Baku - in the all-around, hoop, ball and ribbon exercises, as well as silver with clubs.

Karolina Tarasova lives, studies and trains at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy. Her coach is Evgenia Eliseeva.
