"I am fond of the theater on the floor!" Irina Gusarova talking about artistry in rhythmic gymnastics

Irina Gusarova, the coach of Mariia Borisova, the winner of the Sky Grace Cup interregional qualification tournament in St. Petersburg under the Master of Sports program, told about staging of programs.

“Masha and I endeavor to do everything: accents and elements with the highest rating, and the artistry should be in place. This is a must! I like very much when there is a beautiful dance, so that it is more like a theater on the floor, rather than exercises.”

The professional also explained how the work takes place during training sessions before the competition,

“Masha is actually recovering after the injury. So the preparation process is also fairly lengthy. We are purposefully moving to get in suitable shape for performances. As soon as we are making a new program, we already start thinking about the next new program. We are looking for music at once, on and on. We discuss the image — that’s a lot.”
