"Everything was at the highest level!" The Zhemchuzhina Rhythmic Gymnastics Center team talks about the all-Russian Sky Grace Cup competition

The Zhemchuzhina Rhythmic Gymnastics Center team from St. Petersburg under the Masters of Sports program, Olga Chernikova, Anastasia Mikhailova, Alisa Eremeeva, Agata Barekzai, Sofia Supryaga and Sofia Solonskaya, shared their emotions from the all-Russian Sky Grace Cup tournament.

"We liked the organization of the competition very much, everything was at the top level. We would like to extend many thanks to everyone supporting us during the performance. It helped us a lot. We had trained here before and some of the peculiarities were already familiar to us. So we were very happy to come back here again. We really wanted to get to the All-Russian competition," the girls said.

The gymnastics spoke about their programs and their performance at the tournament:

"Elena Afanasyeva is our exercise choreographer. She prepared our ribbon performance to ‘There is just a moment’ song and hoops for a kind of burlesque melody. We tried to express this music, it was a bit difficult but we tried to express this music through emotions," they said.

In addition, the gymnasts noted the high competition level among the participating teams.

"We tried, first and foremost, to go out and perform cleanly, to work out to the absolute utmost. Certainty, the top three were very strong teams — Omsk, Nizhny Novgorod. We also liked the performance of the Belarusian team a lot, the Moscow team. Everyone was very strong.  We qualified for Minsk according to the result of this competition. Belarusian gymnasts have a very interesting work with the object, many things can be learned. It is always very interesting to watch their performance. We always admire them" they said.

At the all-Russian Sky Grace Cup competition, the team from Zhemchuzhina Rhythmic Gymnastics Center from St. Petersburg took third place in the all-around according to the Masters of Sports program and received the right to compete at the international tournament in Minsk.
