"Impressions were good!" Mariia Borisova talks on the results of the international Ojaq Cup tournament in Baku
Mariia Borisova from St. Petersburg summed up the results of her performance at the international Ojaq Cup tournament in Baku.
"Everything went well, because we managed to do three types without losses, show the programs, and the idea as a whole. We also managed to show the ribbon according to the program, but we couldn’t do the exercise itself, there was a loss, there was a bow on the ribbon. But overall the impressions were good, and there is something to work on," Mariia said.
The athlete shared how during her ribbon routine she tied a bow, but the spare apparatus turned out to be too short.
"This is the first time that the ribbon is shorter than the one I usually use. And then it also broke, and I had to change ribbons. I was more in the mental process, thinking rather than being into emotions," Mariia said.
The gymnast also shared her opinion about the new programs.
"I really like my programs now. They are all multifaceted, different images. And I think that this is great and will only be a bonus for me," she said.
In Baku, the gymnast performed out of competition according to the Sky Grace rules.
Mariia Borisova lives and trains at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.
