Olga Chernykh from Novosibirsk, is a student at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, who is working on a new program with the jump rope. Exercises with this object are included in the program of the international Games of Countries countries, which will be held at the Academy in October.
The gymnast shared how she is getting acquainted with the new object.
“I’ve been training with a jump rope for a month now. I haven't worked with it before. It was a little hard at first, but now it’s better. I already understand how to do many elements, and how to throw it. It's already getting easier. Out of a cartwheel, I throw the unrolled rope, take three jump steps and catch it in a spin,” Olga shared.
She also shared whose performances she looks up to.
“I watched Alina Kabaeva. I even watched how the girls were now performing with a jump rope. Anastasia Salos, for example,” she said.
On the initiative of Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva, gymnasts will also perform with the jump rope in the Sky Grace tournament for the second year in a row.
