Preschoolers from the Academy free early development groups attended a master class by a teacher from Alla Dukhova’s TODES school-studio.

After the class, choreographer Olga Pronina shared a secret on how to get children interested.

"We learned a small dance composition with the girls today, which aims at, firstly, good mood — something that dances cannot go without at all. Smiling and endeavoring in dancing is a must. For girls of such age to endeavor, they should be approached from the music side. I always choose the music they most probably like," Olga said.

She also talked about how dancing can help young gymnasts develop in all areas.

"It seems to me that choreography in rhythmic gymnastics gives more freedom as regards plasticity because rhythmic gymnastics focuses nevertheless on technique, on performance, while we try to give a bit more freedom in dances. That’s why I believe that this is a very good idea to familiarize girls from rhythmic gymnastics with dances," she said.

Alla Dukhova's TODES school-studio teachers hold master classes for both Academy preschoolers and older students..
