Academy coaches summarized the results of the mAlinka tournament, which featured preschoolers from free early development groups.
Olga Frolova noted the young gymnasts' progress:
"Many girls have progressed. We saw freehand performances today, and the kids born in 2021, 2020, while those born in 2019 and 2018 already did exercises with apparatus. The ones born in 2019 performed with the rope; those born in 2018 were with the rope and one type of their choice, the ball or the hoop. All the gymnasts showed their good skills. It is clear that they have trained a lot with their coaches and have improved, learned to perform new elements, have become very artistic in accordance with the rules, which can not but please us, the judges and the coaches."
She shared which performances she enjoyed and what stood out about the athletes:
"I liked the performances of those born in 2018. The girls performed freehand and with two types for the first time. They showed their skills. These are already difficult exercises. They work like seniors thus far. They competed in the all-around. It would seem that the girls are still small, but they already have a program almost like the seniors have. Of course, there are fewer elements and skills there, but they had so excellent command of the rope, they are just great. I also liked the ones born in 2021. The girls are naughty, artistic, the programs are interesting, sometimes the elements don't quite work out yet, but they definitely have the upper hand in artistry. The year of 2019, there are good girls, neat, pretty, they stretch their arms and legs, and do quite difficult elements. That's why I think the tournament turned out to be excellent."
Elizaveta Chernova shared her impressions of the competition:
"This is a festival, we were waiting for these competitions, we prepared, we trained. I worry about every girl, there are so many of them. We have three groups. And today everyone performed, and some surprised us a lot in a good way."
She explained the importance of holding these tournaments for the youngest gymnasts:
"Our task is to make them fall in love with this sport, with what they are doing. And competitions, so that they keep in mind that this is a festival nevertheless. Well, they are certainly growing and already worrying, but we talk to them, I find special words for each one and try to encourage them. Today the older girls helped us, so many thanks to them as well. The little ones practice in such conditions, having the opportunity to perform at the arena where international competitions are held. Therefore, many thanks to Alina Maratovna for providing all this to us, and through this program we can develop children from a very early age."
The mAlinka tournament was held at the Academy on October 15.
