Academy coach Evgenia Eliseeva summed up the performance of our students at the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship

Academy coach Evgenia Eliseeva shared her impressions of the performance of Academy student Ksenia Savinova from Gatchina at the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship.

Our gymnast won two silver medals in exercises with a hoop and clubs. Evgenia talked about the results of the Academy students’ performance.

“By the last day we warmed up. We have already become much more confident in performing. Ksenia was no longer worried at all, she was confident, she did it well. I liked that she fought. I fought with herself, first of all, to make it really bright, strong, and clear. Two silvers in an exercise with a hoop and clubs. The public was very supportive of us. We were really rooting for her, giving her goosebumps,” Evgenia said.

The coach talked about the results of Academy student Elvira Belyaeva.

“We have Elya at 27. More than a hundred participants were the strongest from Russia. Quite a good result, sixth born in 2012. Therefore, I think this is a good result. Of course, we were a little let down by the ribbon that we took quite recently. She is still a year younger than Ksenia. But everything is ahead, we will definitely improve and next year we will also show good results,” the coach said.

Evgenia Eliseeva also thanked Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva for her support.

“I want to express gratitude to Alina Kabaeva, for always providing support, because she called the girls and got them in the right mindset. Eva Chugunova, Elya, Ksenia came out every time I set them up by saying, imagine that Alina Kabaeva is sitting there. Do it for her, do it colorfully. Don't pay attention to anything, just for the sake of the audience, do it for her sake. And so that everything works out,” she said.

Our Academy was represented at the competition by Ksenia Savinova and Elvira Belyaeva from Gatchina, Miroslava Monina from Penza and Eva Chugunova from Ulyanovsk.
