Academy gymnasts and athletes from the M.Voronin Dynamo Moscow gymnastics club are training at the Christmas training camp in Valdai.
Coach Alina Gusarova spoke about how the athletes' programs are changing.
"We started our training camp with the New Year tree celebration. During The New Year holidays, the children are happy, fulfilled. Now we have arrived, and already started training. Now in training we have already started working on new exercises, new routines. Complicated risks, skills. We have complicated them for all our gymnasts. Veronika Malinina and I have just been practicing a risk, a new catch. A very complicated risk. And a catch at the end of the exercise with the ball: also a very complicated catch on the rebound. We are trying to work it out. We have time for this now, we will work, work hard," Alina said.
Alina also noted the benefits of joint gatherings for children.
"Both boys and girls start to meet, play, discuss things. This is a bonus, a very big one, that they have communication with other children. And, of course, to see how other children train, another sport, this is something completely new for them. I think it will be good for them, because the boy gymnasts here are very disciplined. The conditions are wonderful. Many thanks to the organizers, many thanks to Alina Kabaeva for an opportunity like this," she said.
The training camp was organized by the founders of the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.
