Judge Natalya Simashkevich assesses the progress of Academy students during the Volga Federal District Championship

Coach and judge Natalya Simashkevich told us about importance of the tournament for young athletes in the course of the Volga Federal District Championship.

"These competitions are the main ones for first-class gymnasts and master of sports candidates. This is the championship of the Volga Federal District; all our regions came. Girls are selected for the Russian Championship, which will be held in February in Moscow."

The professional assessed the progress of Academy students — Eva Chugunova from Ulyanovsk and Miroslava Monina from Penza.

"They, of course, are improving emotionally and mentally. Some things worked out for them, others didn’t work out, that’s normal. I wish them successful performances."

Natalya Simashkevich also shared her impressions of the seminar on the rules of the Sky Grace International Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association, which took place on January 13 and 14 in the Academy.

"In some ways it was easier for me than for my colleagues, because I had already staged programs with Victoria Bespalova. I already was in close contact with the Sky Grace Association’s rules. I passed the exam and I'm very happy about it. I was also pleased that so many people came to this seminar. That means that the people are interested."

The Volga Federal District Championship, where Academy students took part, was held in Ulyanovsk from January 19 to 24.
