“Home ground is warming” Mariia Borisova — about the Sky Grace Cup interregional qualification tournament in St. Petersburg

Mariia Borisova, the winner of the Sky Grace Cup interregional qualification tournament in St. Petersburg under the Master of Sports program, shared emotions from performing in her home city.

“I am always delighted to perform at home; I am supported. Probably, it is even a bit more emotional than in Moscow. But I am very delighted, home ground is warming.”

Maria also told us about preparations for the competition and her attitude towards the Sky Grace International Association rules.

“We thought it over in advance how we will make revisions for the Sky Grace rules. All the elements remained the same as they had been at the competition in Beijing. There was nothing challenging in it. I like that these rules are balanced, as between elements and for the object. And it is possible at the same time to show personality; probably this is the most cool now.”

The athlete also shared her reminiscences from workouts in the Academy.

“I always have the warmest and the most pleasant feelings of the Academy. Conditions there are the best that can be for gymnastics and for sports, for life in general: there are halls, good accommodation, meals and friendly atmosphere in the hall; everybody is smiling and working.”
