"I made a lot of Russian friends!" Gymnasts from China talking about the training camp in the Academy

Young participants in the training camp from China told us how their training sessions are going in the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy. 

Shi Yunyao shares what she has already learned during the time of staying in Sirius.

"I really like the coaches and the training atmosphere here. They taught me a lot of new things, like forward rolls, small and large ball throws, and the Kabaeva element. In addition to the training, while relaxing in our rooms, we also talk to older Russian girls. And on Saturday, the Russian coach took us to a park where there were many beautiful flowers, swans and different trees that we have never seen before. The most unforgettable thing about these training camps is that I made a lot of Russian friends, and also that I learned a lot of Russian techniques. During training, we counted the tempo in Russian: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!"

Xie Zixuan also noted that Academy coaches had helped her to acquire new skills.

"The coaches here are very good. They taught me many new techniques, for example, I learned a new set of exercises, rolling a ball on my back. We usually speak English and use gestures. I met Lada, Karolina, Sonya, Eva, and Monya."

Wang Yiying told us how the Chinese gymnasts are spending their time not taken by training sessions.

"In the evenings we play and talk with Russian girls, they taught us to speak a little Russian. The coach went to the park with us, where we saw a swan. We speak with them in English and use gestures. I made new friends: Christina, Lera, Ksyusha, Karolina and Lada."

Gymnasts from China arrived for a training camp at the Academy in March.
