"After a long break, I was finally able to perform consistently in all events!" Sofia Lantsova on her victory at the Hopes of Russia competition

For Sofia Lantsova, champion of the Hopes of Russia competition from Moscow, this competition in Yekaterinburg is her last as a junior.

The gymnast summed up her performance at the All-Russian tournament:

"This competition went quite well for me. I completed all the events without any major mistakes or losses. There were some mistakes, of course, but absolutely no major errors. The best part is, I guess, that after a long break, I was finally able to perform consistently in all the events. At the beginning of the month we put this ball together. I worked on it for about ten days, and then we flew to Georgia for the competition. I worked on it pretty quickly. This was my last competition in the junior division. Well, it went so well, and that's how I finished my juniors competition. We'll be moving up to the senior division in January. Thank you so much to my favourite coaches for preparing me and for believing in me. I love you very much."

Sofia talked about which of the older athletes she looks up to:

"I really like Masha Borisova, of course. I really like Varya Toporova and Arina Kovshova for their apparatus work. Very interesting, very challenging."

The All-Russian tournament Hopes of Russia was held in Yekaterinburg on November 29 and 30.
