"To encourage a gymnast for her abilities is great!" Association judges speaking about Sky Grace rules
International Association judges Svetlana Mayorova from the Sakhalin region, Olga Peresypkina and Alina Alekminskaya from the Trans-Baikal Territory came to the training camp and told us about advantages of the Sky Grace rules.
Svetlana Mayorova noted that the Sky Grace rules make it possible for a gymnast to show the beauty of her body.
"The rules themselves were created; let’s recall the period of Alina Kabaeva’s performance, and these rules were directly recreated, when there was spectacular gymnastics in place, where you could show all the beauty of your body, your abilities."
Olga Peresypkina underscored that the Association rules provide the children with an extra chance.
"In Sky Grace rules, there are elements that we count with a variation of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3. This is no longer in the Russian rules. If the child didn’t do anything, you can’t count anything. There are children who simply cannot perform one hundred percent according to their capabilities, and then there is a chance for the children to see some equality."
She also explained how skills of the judge help in the coach’s work.
"It helps a lot in terms of working on exercises and elements when it comes to coaching. You can already teach your child how to do this right because everything is spelled out in our rules."
Alina Alekminskaya noted that presence of extra credits for the amplitude in rules is a significant advantage for the Association and gymnasts.
"For me, the most difficult thing was to calculate the cost of turns, because they are calculated a little differently. It’s unusual that there are bonuses in the Sky Grace, but I like it, because rewarding a gymnast for her amplitude, for her capabilities, for her physical data is, of course, very cool."
