“There is more responsibility. And I feel that I’ve gotten bolder”. Gymnast Chevtaeva - about the element named after her

Krasnoyarsk gymnast Eva Chevtaeva shared how she felt about an element named after her.

The gymnast catches the object with her feet in a rotation without visual control in a way that no one has done before.

“I came to work out in a bad mood, for some reason. Then my coach said “come here, I'll cheer you up, and showed me a photograph with a document that assigned me my element. I immediately cheered up. Then I ran to call my mother, it was after training. She said that she already knew everything,” Chevtaeva said.

The gymnast admitted that this has given her added responsibility. “And I feel like I’ve become bolder,” she said.

The original hoop catch was named in honor of Chevtaeva in 2022. The gymnast is a participant of the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy spring training camp.
