"From competition to competition, Masha is certainly gaining confidence and strength." Irina Gusarova talks about Mariia Borisova's performance at the World Cup in Tashkent

Irina Gusarova, Mariia Borisova's coach, spoke about the preparations for the World Cup in Uzbekistan and about the progress of her gymnast:

"I told her to keep everything calm, balanced, that she had everything trained, that she was the most wonderful, the best. Just stay calm, and she'll succeed. The competition was wonderful. It even felt a bit like home; everything was quite calm. Masha moved forward, and she did well. Very good support. I like her; she has a charming smile. From competition to competition, of course, she becomes more confident, stronger. She enjoys competing."

Irina Nikolaevna thanked everyone who helped along the way — the judges, the Academy and Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva:

"I'd like to thank everyone who helped us, our esteemed judges. And, of course, most importantly, Alina Maratovna for her support, faith, hope, and love for Masha."

Mariia Borisova won a silver medal in the hoop final and gold in the all-around at the second stage of the World Cup.
