"They give kids the motivation to be different!" Yulia Bravikova talks about the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association rules

Many experienced professionals work at the Academy training camps. Among them is international Master of Sports Yulia Bravikova, champion of the Universiade and a participant of the Alina festival.

After the latest lesson, Julia shared her story of getting acquainted with the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association rules.

"When Sky Graces rules were released, of course, I took interest and read them but I have not yet had the chance to prepare exercises under these new rules. When I look at gymnasts performing under the Sky Grace rules, I distinguish the flourish, I can see it. Flourish is the addition to your exercise, your composition. This is an interesting point that I liked," Yulia said.

She also spoke about the benefits that the rules give gymnasts.

"I like very much that in the Sky Grace rules, for example, in the balance in the rear, when you pass the object under the leg, you will have an extra 0.1 added for that. Well, you can pass under FIG rules and under Russian rules but you will get nothing for that.  You must have straight arms beyond the leg, you must have super flexibility  to try to pass the hoop, the ball, the club, whatever; it can be the ribbon, the stick passed. There is extra credit for that, this is good. This provides the children with motivation to differ from the others. Now children are coming here, practicing here, and qualifying on a going basis. I am happy that such a venue appeared in Sochi, where all the children training and practicing can demonstrate and unlock their potential," she said.

Yulia Bravikova is the coach of the training camp, which took place at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, June 20 to 30.
