"She is an amazing gymnast!" Academy coach Olga Frolova talks about working with Jimena Dominguez

Coach Olga Frolova talks about working with Jimena Dominguez from Venezuela on choreographing a new program with a ribbon.

Jimena Dominguez from Venezuela came to the Academy to train. The gymnast is working on setting up a new exercise with a ribbon together with coach Olga Frolova. After the lesson, the coach shared what combination elements Jimena could do.

"We watched a program with a ribbon today. We changed the elements in the program because according to Sky Grace there should be two combined elements, consisting of two elements for juniors. Today we first selected the combinations that would be comfortable for her to do, and we chose good, expensive two combined elements. One of them is a turn into a fouette, connected with a turn in a loop. And the second is a penche balance and a ring without assistance. But she also has two new isolated elements. These are back helicopters. And also another expensive element — a flip-over tightening element with a twist. We looked at the risks and changed the order of the elements a little," Olga said.

She also praised the gymnast.

"Jimena is a wonderful gymnast. Very attentive, she is not afraid, she tries. She is a very positive child, it is nice  to work with her," Olga said.
