Olympic champion Anastasia Maksimova talks about her work as a coach at the international Evgeniya Cup tournament

Olympic champion Anastasia Maksimova came to the international Evgeniya Cup tournament in Omsk as a coach of the Russian group gymnasts team.

The specialist shared what it's like for her to be a mentor.

"Of course, these are completely different positions. That's one hundred percent true. And from the gymnast's side it always seems one way, but from the coach's side it's all completely different. And already as a coach, I always look and think, yes, it seemed to us that nothing was evident, that somewhere here you can't do something, somewhere, maybe, make some of your own movements, but the coach can see everything, the children are in the palm of your hand. Therefore, from the coach's side, of course, it is very interesting, difficult, but we will work," Anastasia said.

She also highlighted the peculiarity of the Academy's group gymnasts.

"First of all, the secret, I think, like any athlete, is hard work. This is probably the first of the most important secrets, which is not a secret to everyone. And, of course, in the team's coherence. It is very important for the team to work together, attentively. They communicate with each other, can support each other. And, of course, first of all, this is the most important thing - to listen to the coach and what he says, and follow clear instructions," she said.
