"It’s very cool when people cheer for you!" Ksenia Savinova talks about the atmosphere at the Sky Grace Cup

Academy student Ksenia Savinova from Gatchina spoke about the atmosphere of the all-Russian Sky Grace Cup tournament at the Academy.

"The atmosphere is very massive, it’s very cool to perform with strong girls like that, especially in the finals. You try to perform well so that you can also compete for a medal.- Every week we had control training sessions in the same hall, so we went out as if for a control training session, calmly. And it’s very cool when so many people are rooting for you. We already performed according to the Sky Grae rules, so it was a little easier than, probably, for the girls who usually perform according to the Russian rules," she said.

The gymnast also shared the advice that Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva gave her before the competition.

"Alina Maratovna added to my programs that after the ring, I go with two into the jump rope and go further in the skills into a somersault. And I did it today," Ksenia said.

Ksenia also recalled her recent trip to Minsk for the Alina festival.

"We were in Minsk at the festival, we really liked it there. The people are friendly, so I really want to go there again," she said.

Soon the gymnast will go to Belarus again, she took second place in the all-around according to the Master of Sports candidate program and will take part in the international Sky Grace Cup tournament in Minsk at the end of May.
