"I am very happy with the girls’ performance!" Evgenia Eliseeva talking about the performance of Academy students at the Northwestern Federal District Championship

Academy Coach Evgenia Eliseeva commended performance of Academy students Ksenia Savinova and Elvira Belyaeva from Gatchina at the Northwestern Federal District Championship.

"I am very happy with the girls’ performance. Ksyusha got the first place in all events, won gold. Elya was fourth in the all-around but we qualified from the Northwest for the Russian championship. I am very happy with her. Many thanks to everyone taking their part for us to be here, that we again have gold medals, for these results. Alina Maratovna, we really miss you!"

The specialist also described how preparations for the competition had taken place.

"We were in the hall from as early as January 2, preparing new programs and starting to practice them that time, because it was very difficult. It was challenging for us to adapt after the Sky Grace."

At the first tournament in the new year, Ksenia Savinova and Elvira Belyaeva won first and fourth places in the all-around and also helped the Leningrad Region’s team to capture gold in team standings.

Athletes therefore qualified for the Russian Championship that would be held in February in Moscow.
