"You have to believe in yourself. And that's how much I love gymnastics, and I'll keep loving it." Eva Kononova talks about the results of the Alina Kabaeva Grand Prix Champions Cup

At the Alina Kabaeva Grand Prix Champions Cup, Eva Kononova from the Tyumen Region won the all-around title, as well as gold medals with the hoop and ribbon, and silver with clubs.

After the award ceremony, Eva shared her impressions of the competition in St. Petersburg:

"The emotions are only positive. As I already said, every time I go out there, I can't believe they are putting a medal on me. But we work so much for this to happen. I was looking at the stands because there were so many people there. Everyone came to cheer. For me, this is very valuable and incredibly pleasant. I just stood there and enjoyed those minutes."

She noted her progress after moving to Sirius:

"I think we have improved a lot in artistry and in cleanliness. Overall, I have started to be in time for more. In general, we work a lot, so progress is visible. What would I like to say to myself a year ago? You need to believe in yourself. And just as I love gymnastics, to continue loving it."

The athlete also thanked Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva, the Academy team and all the coaches who helped her achieve such a result:

"Alina Maratovna said: ‘Complete what you started, then you can relax. Then again, each type anew, from the beginning. The competitions don't end.’ Every word from Alina Maratovna is so valuable and important to me. I am incredibly happy when she tells me something. Evgenia Mikhailovna is a very warm-hearted person. She can talk to me or, on the contrary, just like that - uh... So we work very well together, and I really enjoy working with her. I love her very much. I want to thank very much Alina Maratovna, all the coaches who helped me: Evgenia Mikhailovna, Olga Dmitrievna, and my choreographer Lyudmila Alexandrovna. To all the fans - it means a lot to me. To our director, of course, Ekaterina Konstantinovna. To all the judges who assessed us. And I would like to thank all the choreographers who helped me, who staged such interesting programs. Thank you very much. I would like to appreciate all my coaches: the very first one - Irina Sergeevna, Lyubov Petrovna, and Vera Nikolaevna Shatalina, Ekaterina Valentinovna Pankova. Thank you so much!"
