"We don't watch each other's performances because we worry" Murzin sisters about the special connection between twins

Twins Maria and Ekaterina Murzina came to the training camp at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy in Sochi from Gatchina.

There is a special connection between the sisters, which manifests itself not only in everyday life, but also in sports. After the assessment training session, the gymnasts told how they support each other during performances and competitions.

“If I don’t have a good friend, no one will support me. And I have a best friend, that’s my sister,” Ekaterina said.

At the same time, according to the young gymnasts, they never watch each other's performances. And that’s how it was during the assessment training session, following the results of the training camp in Sochi.

“When she drops something, I always start to cry.  And I say "No, mom, that's it, I’m not watching,” Maria said.

She also shared a story about her ability to predict her sister's potential mistake. “I jinx very well. When I think that now she’ll drop something,  and I start to watch and I think about it, and she starts to drop something. That’s why I can’t watch anymore,” Maria explained.

Despite their young age, twins Maria and Ekaterina already talk like adults about their achievements in sports and try to objectively evaluate each other.

“I used to be lazy. Now I started to love gymnastics, understand what it is, and I’m getting better and better,” Maria said.

The young gymnast added that her sister is still ahead of her in rhythmic gymnastics. Katerina did not argue with her. “I achieved the goal that I set, I became the champion and made the Leningrad Region team. I go places more, I went to the Olympic champion Yulia Barsukova when I was little.  Masha is softer than me, and I got to develop and here we are, “ she said.

If in sports Maria is still better than her sister, when it comes to studying, the opposite is true. The girls are finishing fourth grade, and so far Ekaterina's performance is better.

Sisters Maria and Ekaterina Murzina took part in the training camp at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace  Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy on May 15-21 in Sochi.
