"We always recognize gymnasts from St. Petersburg!" Irina Leparskaya speaks about the match meeting of the teams from St. Petersburg and Minsk

Head coach of the Belarusian national team Irina Leparskaya spoke about the concept of the match meeting between St. Petersburg and Minsk teams.
"We want our children to remember all this, to know. And we thought up this bilateral match. But it was created with great prospects. We must create a large sports and cultural cluster, which has the right to live for many years. Our friendship will be embodied in the children. We have been friends long since, reliably, and for a long time. But I want our children to become friends in the same way. That is why we are doing all this. And, of course, everything is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory.”
She shared what distinctive features the gymnasts from the two cities have.
“We always recognize gymnasts from St. Petersburg. They have their own unique style. Children start to be well trained in choreography very early. You can't confuse this school with anything else. I wish them to keep up this brand level. This is very important for gymnastics - beauty, purity and choreographic abilities. Our gymnasts have never been similar. I have a lot of talented young people who are trying to develop all this, to bring it to some kind of modern level of perfection. And I see it myself, we are doing it."
The match meeting of the teams from St. Petersburg and Minsk took place on April 23 at the Zhemchuzhina Center of Rhythmic Gymnastics.
