Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy hosted training camps for gymnasts from different Russian regions in Sochi on April 3-11.
The head of the training camp, Russia’s Honored Coach Anna Dyachenko, shared what it was like to work with young athletes. She emphasized that she was happy with the results of training.
“Our final lessons in each group showed us that we did a very good job. The children are happy, and that is the most important thing. When a child leaves happy and happy with how everything went, that means that the coach has done a good job. And when we have a team of coaches as wonderful as ours, then I think that we’re bound for success,” Dyachenko said.
She said that the preparation for the Alina festival at the Academy was perfectly combined with productive work at the training camp.
“Despite the fact that there were two events happening, both the preparation for the festival and our event, we were able to plan everything in different locations, in order to be more efficient,” the coach said.
The training camp’s main goal is to give young athletes the opportunity to learn from the experience of top Russian athletes. During training, Dyachenko was responsible for the work with the body, and her student, three-time world champion Ekaterina Malygina was responsible for object training.
