"We really want the girls to know how much the elements are worth." Olga Frolova talks about the control training at the Academy

Before the Russian Championship, the Academy held a control training in a new format, introduced at the initiative of Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva. It helps the gymnasts better understand the evaluation system of the exercise.
Afterwards, coach Olga Frolova shared the details of this training format and noted that the gymnasts were able to feel the atmosphere close to the competition.
"We had a control training session, and it was in a new format, as recommended by Alina Kabaeba. The atmosphere was close to the competition. Of course, there were spectators, our Academy students, who were rooting, supporting, shouting, creating an atmosphere so that the girls could feel what it would be like at the competition itself. And we had a team of judges, our coaches, who were divided just like at the competition, into different teams: DB, DA, Execution and artistic performance. And Laura Acosta was with us, who also helped evaluate the gymnasts’ routines. We analyzed each gymnast's performance in detail in each exercise. We analyzed each element, told the gymnasts how much it cost and how much she did not do, how many points she lost with this performance. We really want the girls to know how much the elements cost, how much it costs to perform the elements in different ways," Olga said.
