"We prepared really hard!" Veronika Malinina talks about winning the All-Russian Young Gymnasts tournament

Veronika Malinina from St. Petersburg, the winner of the All-Russian Young Gymnasts tournament, spoke about her impressions of the competition:

"We prepared very hard, I did run-throughs. My coaches helped me, Alina Maratovna too, I showed her my routines. I'm very grateful for her help. I think the competition is very high because the strongest girls here are the strongest girls from all regions of the country. They told me to do everything calmly, one by one, just as I'd trained, that I had it all down. I also told myself that I could do it all, that I had it all down, that I could do it."

The gymnast thanked her coaches and Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva for their help in preparing, as well as the other gymnasts and fans for their support:

"The support, when people tell each other that you'll succeed, that you're doing great, it's really nice and helps. The audience was really supportive, everyone clapped, it's really nice because everyone is so supportive. Thank you so much to Alina Maratovna, my coaches, Irina Gusarova, Alina Gusarova and the choreographers. Thank you so much to the judges for judging."

Veronika's coaches are Alina and Irina Gusarova, and her choreographer is Ekaterina Belova.
