"My main goal is children’s health." New Academy specialist Alina Baranovskaya talks about working with gymnasts

The Academy has a new general fitness coach - Alina Baranovskaya from St. Petersburg. She is a medalist at the 2022, 2023, and 2024 Russian Rowing Championships and an international Master of Sports in streetlifting.
During one of the training sessions, why she is interested in coaching the Academy's gymnasts and what she plans to work on with them:
"I've been involved in sports since I was 12 years old. I was a professional athlete for 12 years, and I still do, just not at a professional level. I've been working with children for about five years now, and my main goal is their health. It's a creative outlet, it's the development of talent. It's wonderful to watch the children's progress. I really want to strengthen everyone's feet and posture. The main problem children have from early on is their feet turning inward. And if there are problems with the feet, it then spreads to the knees, and from the knees, to the spine. I want to improve their health to minimize injuries. I want them to become more agile, more resilient, faster, and stronger. All of this combined will yield great results on the floor."
