"I am very pleased when children call me a role model." Alina Harnasko talks about motivation to be an example for young gymnasts

Alina Harnasko, the all-around champion of the Cup of the Strongest Athletes of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, summed up the results of the competition and spoke about the images in the exercises:

"It's great that I managed to do well in the all-around. Despite the mistake in the hoop, I continued and pulled myself together. I didn't watch how the others were performing, and that helped me a lot both yesterday and today. That's why it's a good result. We competed well, we rivaled, and that's why our growth is noticeable. All the programs turned out different this year. The hoop is the story of Black Heart. I start from it, I want to be different, that I am so daring. And, perhaps, with age it helps me to convey this adult image in a special way. And I think that I can do it!"

She noted that she feels responsible and motivated to be an example for young gymnasts:

"We were greeted quite warmly during the two days of the all-around. The stands were practically full, it was very nice, children's voices. I haven't been to this hall in Moscow for about five years, probably. So it's great that there was good support, that there were a lot of people. In fact, I probably still don't know a lot. But I am very pleased when children mention me as a role model, a person they want to look up to. This is what motivates me to go forward. This is a very honorable mission. You need to constantly keep the bar up, you need to constantly keep up the image."

In addition, the gymnast shared her advice to Sofia Ilteryakova, the all-around champion in the juniors program:

"Sonya is quite a positive, radiant person. She was probably the first to start communicating with me, simply on social networks. And I know this talented, already titled gymnast of Russia. We just exchanged emotions after the competition. She shared that she had a new exercise with a ball, what issues she had with the choice of music, what images she would like to try. So, of course, I shared my experience with her."

Alina Harnasko became the absolute champion of the Cup of the strongest athletes of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus tournament, becoming the first in the sum of four apparatus.
