Mariia Borisova sums up the results of her performance at the All-Russian Spring Cup competition

From May 19 to 22, the All-Russian Spring Cup competition was held in Krasnoyarsk. Academy gymnast Mariia Borisova became the champion in the all-around, and also won gold medals in the finals of individual events in the exercises with a hoop and ribbon and came in second with the ball and clubs in the Master of Sports program.
After the tournament, the athlete from St. Petersburg told what was most important for her during the performances and how the advice of the head coach of the Russian team Tatyana Sergaeva helped her.
“Right before leaving here, to Krasnoyarsk, we had a training session with Alina Kabaeva. And Alina Maratovna gave me a helicopter after the risk. In the all-around, I managed to make it an accent, I was very happy. This was the most important thing for me, to do what Alina Maratovna set. The head coach of the Russian national team, Tatyana Sergaeva, was sitting at the judges' table. And we exchanged glances, and she would make comments to me with gestures right after the performance, or, on the contrary, praise me,” the gymnast said.
Mariia also noted one of the features of the competition.
“A very interesting feature of this tournament is that there are two medals. And I divided the gold medal for the all-around — between the coach and the choreographer. I gave one medal to Irina Gusarova, and the second to Elena Egorova,” she said.
In addition, the gymnast shared the idea for her unusual hairstyle.
“This is my personal creation. I did everything myself. I was thinking about it in my head before going to bed, and now it's done. There was this idea that these braids like snakes are all woven into one bun,” she said.
