Mariia Borisova assessed her performance at the 1st stage of the international Cup of the Strongest tournament in Moscow

Mariia Borisova became a three-time champion of the 1st stage of the international Cup of the Strongest tournament.  The gymnast won the all-around and also won gold medals in the finals of individual events with clubs and ribbon in the senior program.

Mariia shared her emotions from the competition. 

"The emotions from this competition are good, positive. There were some things that worked out and some that didn't. But overall, I am happy with the completion, with both the all-around and the finals in individual events," Mariia said.

The gymnast also revealed her image in the new program with the ball. 

“It's probably a flirtatious program, inviting the audience to dance with me, maybe be silly, have fun. It's like a playful, cheerful image,” she said. 

Masha shared the advice that she received from the Russian national team Head coach, Tatyana Sergaeva, and Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva.

"Tatyana said that the ribbon should hypnotize the viewer with such a serious face. And it’s hard for me to do so with a serious face, I want to smile towards the end. So I tried hard at these competitions, I kept such a serious look until the end. Alina Kabaeva offered support at these competitions. You always note that this support is important to you. Even with her presence she charged me up with this energy, I gained strength, a good mood, and immediately the performances went well, without losses. It's important to me," the gymnast said.
