What will the preschool orchestra's performance be like at the Academy's New Year's party? Teacher Anna Pukhova tells us

Teacher Anna Pukhova told us what the performance that young gymnasts from free early development groups will present at the Academy's New Year's party will be like.
“Both the main melody and a waltz-style melody, a polka-style melody and jazz improvisation are performed. And depending on the style of music, the girls must perform certain exercises and tasks. In the first case, it is the beautiful sound of a triangle, in the second, it is bells, for a waltz, of course, the beautiful, rolling sounds of a xylophone, and for a dance boogie-woogie, it is noise and percussion instruments. Everything ends with a beautiful fairy-tale theme, "Little Fir Tree Is Cold in Winter,” Anna said.
She explained the main goal of rhythmic classes for young athletes.
"Our main task in rhythm classes is to learn to feel the meter, the rhythm of music. In classes, we develop it as beats on the strong, on the first beat. Our performance is the fruit of rehearsals in December. Our girls show work with noisy instruments, work with percussion instruments and with instruments of non-fixed and fixed pitch," the teacher explained.
She noted that rhythm helps young gymnasts perform exercises more musically in the future.
"The extent to which they hear the pulsation of music determines how clearly they perform exercises to music. Our subject helps girls feel the musical rhythm, not just the rhythm - we clapped our hands, we stomp our feet - but how it sounds inside the music. All our classes are aimed at what we listen to, at what tempo the music sounds, what movements we can make to it, how natural they will be," she said.
The Academy held a rehearsal for the New Year's party with the participation of preschool girls, during which their orchestra performed the melody "Little Fir Tree Is Cold in Winter".
