How is floor gymnastics going at the Academy training camp? Coach Alina Gusarova tells us
The participants in the camp are doing floor gymnastics with the Academy coach Alina Gusarova.
She told us what exercises the girls do before the main training session.
"Par terre is a full warm-up before the main part of the training. We warm up completely: feet, legs, arms, back. We warm up everything so that the children are ready to start training. The children, in general, did not know some exercises yet, they will learn new ones from us. By the end of the training camp, I hope, they will have learned to do these exercises and will then do them at home, work and warm up with them," Alina said.
The coach also explained how she works with gymnasts of different levels.
"Of course, all children have different levels of preparation. For each child, for each group, there is a different warm-up, different exercises, everything is different for everyone. We look at the child’s level. And we begin to develop them further. The girls from Turkey try very hard. They really try very hard, they don't understand everything in Russian, the coach translated for them. It's obvious that they try very hard, they really want it, they worked very hard," the coach said.
