Russian national team choreographer, Irina Zenovka, came to the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy to put together programs for our students.
She is also assisted by multiple world champions Dina and Arina Averina.
After a training session, Russia’s honored coach spoke about working with the Academy's student Karolina Tarasova from Donetsk.
"Karolina and I were putting together a new exercise with clubs. The gypsy music, very playful. We endeavored to materialize all that. We chose such music because it fits Karolina very well as regards the temper and the appearance. Karolina is a very talented girl, she can do everything but she needs to have a very strong desire to do it, and then she manages everything. To be more correct, it can be said that she definitely makes everything from the first time and then she probably starts thinking how to make it better. She performs just superbly when using intuition," Irina said.
Irina also explained how gymnasts’ exercises change depending on the rules.
"It is possible to shift very quickly from FIG rules to Sky Grace rules and back, that is, it does not cause any difficulties. Well, for example, there are no triple elements under FIG rules but there are such elements in the Sky Grace, that is, one element is simply removed and it turns out that a combined element is left, which is exactly like under FIG. Karolina has a very interesting element, a turn with leg going forward, a fouette balance and then a turn to the back position. all right away. This is a tripled element. In other words, one element is simply removed," she said.
She shared her impressions of the BRICS Games, where the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy Clubs Association team performed.
"I watched the BRICS Games in their entirety because I was the commentator and I was watching everyone and everything for eleven hours every day .I took note of the performance by Kristina Voitenko. I particularly keep it in my memory because she was very collected, very tuned, very somewhat positively charged, and this was sensed even through the screen. Naturally, Masha Borisova, for whom I root; I am also working a lot with her. She was somehow incredible, free-spirited that time. I have never seen Masha like that before," Irina said.
