"I wanted to jump up and dance with her!" Russian Championship Head Judge Viktoria Anikina on Mariia Borisova's performance

Russian Championship Head judge Viktoria Anikina assessed the importance of the competition in Moscow and shared her opinion on the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association rules.
"This is the most important competition of the season over the year, this is the national championship. The tournament is beautiful, the tournament is very strong as regards the composition of gymnasts, and it is also very difficult at the same time. Furthermore, it is being held under new rules that came into effect in Russia and in the international program since 2025. We are judging for the first time at such a major competition under new rules. Certainly, questions arise but we always solve them within the framework of the rules. The Sky Grace rules differ by specific elements that are not present in the FIG program. And judging, certainly, should also be different. Combinations of elements are evaluated that are not present in FIG rules," she said.
The specialist also noted the performance with the hoop by the Academy gymnast Mariia Borisova from St. Petersburg.
"Mariia Borisova was very cool today with the hoop routine. I really had the desire to get up and dance together with her," she said.
Academy gymnast Mariia Borisova became the champion of Russia, showing the best result in the all-around final.
