"Gymnasts develop both danceability and musicality". Tatyana Grinko talks about choreography classes at training camp

At an Academy training camp, gymnasts from different Russian cities train with choreographer Tatyana Grinko. She explained what qualities gymnasts develop during classical choreography lessons.
"Gymnasts are learning the dance sense and the music sense at classic dance lessons, and since everything is done rather slowly, intensively, even statically sometimes, as distinct from rhythmic gymnastics rules, internal, some deep muscles are being developed or strengthened," Tatyana said.
She also noted that choreography helps to achieve purity in element execution in rhythmic gymnastics, because this is what is highly valued in the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association rules.
"The classical dance overall is created for that; here is the fifth position, the feet turned inside out. If somebody wants to learn this, she will achieve a clean performance," she said.
The Academy training camp for gymnasts will last until July 10.
