Gymnast Anastasia Pugach assesses her performance at the St. Petersburg Championship

Gymnast Anastasia Pugach, who won silver in the hoop exercise in the Master of Sports candidate program, assessed her programs at the St. Petersburg Championship.

"I rate my performance as good. Of course, I could have done the first event, the ribbon, better, but it was the first event, I was just warming up to it. Then everything went well. I went to the hoop confidently, I did everything, I did everything well. And then I also went to the ball confidently, I did it cleanly, because the first time I went to do it in the non-finals, I didn’t do it very well, I lost it, and I had to run after it," Anastasia said.

The gymnast talked about the image of the black swan, with which she captivated the audience at the Zhemchuzhina Rhythmic Gymnastics Center.

"I was at Swan Lake. I really liked it. There I saw this black swan style, I really liked it, and we decided to do a black swan for ourselves," she said.

She also noted that she enjoys performing under the new rules.

"I really like these rules, that you can dance beautifully, you can liberate yourself. And before, the rules were, of course, good, but you couldn’t liberate yourself like that. And here I really like the fact that there are a lot of things connected with ballet. And ballet is very similar to gymnastics," the gymnast said.

The St.Petersburg Championship took place from February 26 to March 1.
