"It lights people up!" Teacher Georgy Janelidze talks about dance classes at the Academy of the Firsts training camp

Georgy Janelidze taught Georgian dance classes at the Academy of the Firsts training camp. Together with the athletes, they prepared performances for the final concert.
At the final lesson, the teacher told about the specifics of working with gymnasts:
"The children are athletic, the children are prepared, they already have some basics, their bodies are formed. And based on the fact that we didn’t have much time, we immediately started on the "heavy food". We started learning the movements, and everything worked out for us. All the girls absorbed it well, and all of our girls have their numbers ready. Girls from rhythmic gymnastics are different, because in our activity there is not enough time, and we immediately proceed to the basics of Georgian culture, to our movements, and then we move on to all the productions. Our children dance, but there is no such reverent work on gymnastics, on flexibility. But we cover this with our temperament, our fire that we give."
He explained the goals of these productions:
"That is, people's blood starts boiling inside, people are interested in watching, it lights people up, gives people goosebumps. And the organizers, I think, decided to awaken emotions in the girls, to cause this storm of emotions, so that they would feel what it is like not only in their direction, but also in our national Georgian direction."
The Academy of the Firsts training camp took place on July 1-6.
