“This is the main competition of my athletic career!” Mariia Borisova talks about the BRICS Games
The gymnast from the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association Mariia Borisova from St. Petersburg spoke about the opportunity to compete at the BRICS Games.
“It’s a lot of responsibility to be a part of Sky Grace, because the organization itself, the team, is just beginning its journey, and I want it to break out very beautifully, with dignity, and I will help it in this. Now this is the main tournament of my athletic career. This is very important, and a little exciting, lots of responsibility,” she said.
She noted the high competition in the selection process for these competitions.
“I am very grateful for this, because in Russia there is a lot of competition to get into the top four, into the team. It's great,” she said.
The gymnast shared what she will be working on in the remaining preparation time.
“We are in our final days, only a week is left, I will work on my main problem, which has accompanied me throughout my entire sports career - stability. We build it up by the number of run-throughs,” Mariia said.
She also talked about her strengths.
“My strengths are probably that I can somehow captivate the viewer with my images, emotional aspects of my programs, and play it all off with a smile. This is probably my main advantage,” she said.
Mariia became the champion of the Sky Grace Grand Prix in Minsk, where she was selected for the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association team.
