"It's a great honor to compete and represent Russia." Eva Kononova talks about participation in the European Championship

Eva Kononova from the Tyumen Region shared her impressions of the European Championship and spoke about her responsibility to the country:
"It was incredibly interesting, huge support from fans. It was very cool to perform! Plenty of gymnasts from all the countries came. Everything is sophisticated here; a very interesting and so significant tournament. It is a great honor to perform, represent Russia, and responsibility is huge. I was probably more motivated that this is such honor but at the same time I wanted to show how good our performances can be."
She noted the support of the audience:
"It is such big happiness that our flag can be seen and it is so nice overall when 'Russia' is shouted. I also supported the girls before coming out. With flags, we shouted so loudly and therefore when I appeared, I knew it will be so."
The gymnast thanked Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva and the entire Academy team:
"I want to express enormous gratitude to Alina Maratovna for coming to us, helping us so much and spending a lot of time in the gym. I greatly appreciate all my coaches, everyone supporting me, choreographers, and our director. Many thanks, I love all of you so much!"
Eva contributed to the Russian team's bronze medal in the team event. She is a member of the Russian National team's main roster and trains at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.
