"These two medals are our joint result." Mariia Borisova talks about the results of the Grand Prix Rhythmic Gymnastics Marbella

Mariia Borisova won a bronze medal in the hoop and a silver medal in the ribbon at the Grand Prix Rhythmic Gymnastics Marbella.

After the competition, the gymnast shared her impressions of the tournament under the auspices of World Gymnastics:

"In my opinion, the ribbon probably turned out best of all. I enjoyed performing in the finals much more overall because I was more relaxed, and while yesterday I was more nervous, stressed, and worried, today I was able to calmly go out and do my routine. The audience received me very well. I didn't even expect such great support from a foreign audience, but in Spain they were so loud. Sometimes it felt like they were going to deafen me. They supported me very well, especially in the finals and my last performance with the ribbon, when I finished, they applauded really loudly, and I'm very grateful to them for that."

She spoke about the support from Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva and her coaches:

"Alina Maratovna was in touch, helping me, encouraging me, one, two, one, two, do everything precisely, until I finish one move, don't think about the second, stay focused the whole time and work on the floor, work smart, use your head, and I think that helped me. I was also in touch with Irina Nikolaevna, my coach, and she also supported me, helped me, and encouraged me to perform vibrantly, beautifully, from the heart."

Masha also thanked the Academy's team for their help in preparation:

"First of all, I'd like to thank Alina Maratovna, Irina Nikolaevna, choreographer Lyudmila Alexandrovna Duganova, and Irina Borisovna Zenovka. She was here with me, leading me out, helping me everywhere. I felt comfortable going out and getting ready for the performance with her. I'd like to thank her for being with me on this journey and at my first major international competition. I'd also like to thank the judges who advised me before the performance and judged me at these competitions. I'd also like to thank the entire Academy for their support, for always being there, always ready to help. And every specialist who works there. This result and these two medals are our shared achievement."

The tournament took place in Marbella on March 21 and 22.
