“For as young as they are, the children are very good.” Coaches Vera Sergeeva and Alina Gusarova talk about trade union training session at the Academy

Coaches Vera Sergeeva and Alina Gusarova shared their impressions of the first classes with gymnasts born in 2014-15, from the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy trade unions training camp.

Vera Sergeeva noted that despite the difficulties, young athletes continue to work and improve their level of training. “I think that for their very young age, the kids are very good, they try. Of course, it’s hard for them, but they overcome themselves and work,” she said.

She added that the training sessions are aimed at mastering new elements. “ We specifically worked out rhythmic gymnastic elements that they can use in their programs in the future. We taught them how to do more complex elements, so that later it would be easier for coaches to work with them,” Sergeeva added. Coach Alina Gusarova emphasized that working with other coaches at the training camp is very helpful for the gymnasts.

“Of course, it's very good that they train daily with their coaches. But when children come together with other children from other cities, they communicate, they watch, they develop. And when they receive information from other coaches, even the same as from their own, but in other words, they immediately hear and perceive it differently,” she said.

Тренировочные сборы профсоюзного общества проходят в Академии Sky Grace в Сочи со 2 по 10 мая. В них принимают участие более 120 гимнасток из 17 городов России.
