Oksana Skaldina is a bronze medalist at the 1992 Olympic Games and Eva Chevtaeva’s coach, and under her guidance the gymnast won two gold medals in individual event finals and became the winner as part of the Russian team at the III CIS Games.
The specialist shared her impressions of the tournament.
"Emotions are a bit overwhelming because we were entrusted to participate in the CIS Games. We were a bit anxious because it is a great responsibility; I approached this with care and am very glad that almost everything went well. On the first day, we had a mistake in the hoop, but she handled the three other types well, she did a good job," Oksana said.
The coach also spoke about changes in the programs.
"We slightly changed the risks, the throws. And it seems to me that our strategy worked, as we trained right in a hall with a low ceiling. And I changed the program a bit, so I hope everything worked out," she said.
Oksana also thanked the Sky Grace International Association for the opportunity to participate in the competition.
"For Eva and me, this is the first experience of this kind. It is very important. And to be honest, we didn't expect it, and everything turned out this way! And the most important thing is that we didn't let anyone down and performed decently. That was the main goal! We appreciate the Sky Grace International Association and Alina Maratovna for believing in us, inviting us, and I hope we didn't let them down," the coach said.
