"This is a chance for children!" Evgenia Kanaeva talks about Sky Grace participation in BRICS Games

Two-time Olympic champion Evgenia Kanaeva shared her impressions from the rhythmic gymnastics contest at BRICS Games.

"Everybody was preparing so much and look forward. I believe that excellent results are demonstrated; they are competing with themselves, as it seems to me."

She commended influence of the Sky Grace International Association on world’s sport development:

"Such gymnast as Kristina Voitenko became known owing to the Sky Grace. Certainly, they believed in her because we in Russia actually have very strong competition and there are plenty of gifted girls. Owing to Alina Maratovna, that provides them with the best professionals, helping also to develop gymnastics and helping other children. This is the platform where even more children take part in such competitions and this is a chance for children. Certainly, there is a need to compete, as much competitions as possible should be held. It is so cool that the ones of such scale as the Sky Grace were started to be held. Everything is good. Furthermore, the girls perform decently."

Evgenia Kanaeva also highlighted athletes that she remembered most in the International Association team.

"From the Sky Grace, I like so much and impressed by the girl from Minsk, from Belarus, Darya Grokhotova. Certainly, Mariia Borisova, I love her so much and respect her work and coaches. Definitely, she is doing unique things, unique programs. Stability is the main point."

Furthermore, Evgenia Kanaeva is the coach of Arina Kovshova, who performed at BRICS Games for the Russian national team and won silver in the all-around under the junior program. Gold is with Kristina Voitenko from the Sky Grace team.
