"The girls love it here." Coach Olga Frolova - about the Academy preschoolers selection

Master of Sports in Rhythmic Gymnastics, Academy coach Olga Frolova, shared how the preschoolers have been are selected for additional education groups at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.

“We meet them in the hall, where we have a museum, and take them from their parents. Some of them walk away calmly,  others cry, and this is quite normal. We talk to the kids, get them involved, and they go to show the exercises. Then we go the gym, they are shown basic gymnastic elements, the girls repeat, and based on all the criteria, the coaching staff reviews and determines the level, ability, and so on,” Olga said.

She emphasized that during the selection process, it’s not just the physical abilities of the participants is taken into account, but also their potential, which can be revealed at a later age.

“Perhaps in the future the gymnast will be able to open up and present herself. Perhaps at first glance it seems that all the abilities are average, but there is potential, and it can be seen later in the future. This is also taken into account during the selection process,” the coach added.

She said that most little girls do not worry when they enter the performance hall.

 “They see a beautiful Palace, a beautiful hall and run into the hall with pleasure. They like it here, they say it’s very beautiful. Overall, the girls are in a good mood,” she said.

Girls three and a half to six years old participate in the selection зкщ for additional education groups.
