“Next we go to Minsk!” Alisa Medvedeva talks about the all-Russian Sky Grace Cup competition

At the all-Russian Sky Grace Cup competition, Alisa Medvedeva from Moscow spoke about the preparation of programs and her favorite elements.

“I prepared with my coaching team in Moscow. We had little time; we restructured the program. It turned out to be very interesting because the number of risks and elements is limited under the Sky Grace rules. Jumps and leaps are my favorite elements. We removed some jumps and leaps because there is a certain number of elements according to the Sky Grace rules. We also added combination elements because they are beneficial to be made under the Sky Grace rules. I have never performed with the rope but we started practicing with it this year, when it was added both under Russian and Sky Grace rules. It was very difficult at the start but it is one of my favorite objects now. I quickly understood it, mastered it, and now I very much like the exercises that I am doing,” Alisa said.

The gymnast noted the high competition level at the tournament and shared that she was glad to qualify for international competitions in Minsk.

“Very strong athletes are here, with whom I perform, the best ones in our country. That’s why I never guess what places I will take later. Then we will go to Minsk, to perform under the Sky Grace rules. I am very happy that I took fifth place and will go to this competition,” she said.

Alisa Medvedeva took fifth place in the all-around at the all-Russian Sky Grace Cup competition and will be able to take part in the international tournament in the capital of Belarus.
