What is a dynamic change? Judge Ekaterina Lots talks about new additions to the FIG rules

Ekaterina Lots, judge of the international Cup of the Strongest Athletes of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus tournament, talked about new additions to the FIG rules.
In rhythmic gymnastics, it’s not only the technique and artistry that are important, but also the ability to work with the dynamics of movement. The specialist explained what a dynamic change is and how to implement it correctly:
"Now new additions have come, when a dynamic change must include two components, two movements. For example, a gymnast moved at one tempo for a certain part of the time. And then she must show a different tempo. Or it could be a slight slowdown and then an exit to some fast expressive element, but with music."
She told how the judges evaluate it:
"When the judges see that the gymnast is changing the tempo, we count the dynamic change. I think it looks quite impressive. Because these dynamic changes affect the perception of the audience, and it looks a little different, like a performance."
The Cup of the Strongest Athletes of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus tournament is being held in Moscow from August 20 to 22.
