At the Russian Championship, Academy gymnast Anna Vakulenko from Volgograd won bronze in the team event as part of the Volgograd Region team.
After the end of the competition, she shared how the support of Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva helps her.
"The tournament was very big, large-scale. Our girls came to support us. We prepared for this tournament for a long time and worked very hard, so it was a little nerve wracking to perform here. When Alina Kabaeva comes, it is already a great support, because she helps, gives advice. And on the second day she even looked at my clubs and helped me, made comments, adjustments," Anna said.
The gymnast also assessed her progress after moving to the Academy.
"I really like the Academy because I grew up a lot there. We study and train there, and it all has a big impact, it helps me become stronger and grow. I am very happy that I won bronze, but we will continue to work to fix mistakes and strive for better results," she said.
